Crows Nest – Residential

Overview

A former Salvation Army Hall, the Citadel is once again at the heart of the community. A design brief rich in the building’s history – an amalgamation of industrial, art deco and federation. We worked with skilled trades to enhance the heritage bones. Installing custom steel framed arch doors that pay tribute to the existing architecture. Crafting moments of impact, we craned into the apartment a six-metre concrete island bench to contrast the ultra-black polished floors. This project lends itself to material exploration with in house brass ageing, custom lighting, steel blackening and wood preservation. The end result is a celebration of the building’s heritage elements with the combination of industrial edge meets glamour.
